Emma and Matthew reached out to me from the UK after discovering some of my work on Instagram. In fact, the majority of their wedding was found through Instagram, the venue, furniture, hair, make up and wedding planner.
After seeing pictures of where they planned to get married, I could not pass up the opportunity to be a part of their beautiful day at the stunning Villa Bologna.
Situated in San Anton, Malta, Villa Bologna was built in 1745 and is still to this day used as a family home.
Emma wore a spectacular embroided mermaid gown, suitably named Constellation which shimmered under the light as the sun fell behind the walled garden of Villa Bologna.
When asked what they wanted of their day, Emma and Matthew said more than anything they wanted it to feel like a big party with their closest friends and family, and it certainly lived up to this expectation. From the pink Cadillac Emma arrived in, to the speeches and the beach club feel DJ and saxophonist, this wedding was so much fun to shoot and be a part of.
Like so many other couples their hopes of a 2020 wedding were postponed due to the pandemic, but what was clear was that this day was certainly worth the wait.
Here are some photos of Emma and Matthew’s special day.
